New Zealand is an island country located in the south-western Pacific Ocean. It is composed of many small islands. Wellington is the capital city of New Zealand. It has a population of 389,700 and is the third-most populous urban area of the country. 

Auckland, the largest city in the country situated in the North Island of New Zealand, and the most populous area in the country with approximately 1,354,900 residents.

The New Zealand dollar, denoted by the ISO 4217 code NZD, is the official currency of New Zealand.

English is the official language. 99% of people there speak English. Samoan French, Hindi, Yue and Northern Chinese are the other languages being spoken.

There are a total of 8 government-funded universities in New Zealand and all are internationally recognized with top-quality education and standards. University education is open to anyone meeting the prescribed university entrance requirements as set by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA). However, universities have higher standard entry criteria for fields like medicine, dentistry, etc. students can work at bachelor’s, masters and doctoral degrees as well as diplomas at various levels. Having a New Zealand degree can be beneficial in many other countries for further studies. 

POLYTECHNICS

There are 20 polytechnics, many of which are called Institutes of Technology. They provide a wide range of courses and subjects. Semester times are more likely to be equivalent to those for universities but short courses can be started at any time of the year.

PRIVATE TRAINING INSTITUTIONS

There are over 800 private education providers in New Zealand, many of which offer short term English learning courses for international students. Some private education providers also provide courses in fields like business, computing, and design also.

NZ STUDENT VISA POSITIVE PROFILE

WORK WHILE STUDY IN NEW ZEALAND

Students are allowed to work for 20 hours per week and 40 hours per week during the time of academic holidays while on a student visa. The minimum wage is 12NZ$ per hour.

WORK AFTER COMPLETION OF THE STUDIES.

After completing the education, students are eligible for 1 year of job search visa if they have studied a course of level 7 or above. If the course level is below 7 then students have to study a minimum of 2 years to obtain a job search visa.
